Beach - The beach is very large and even though technically all the beaches in Acapulco are public, you will be hard pressed to find vendors on this beach since it is pretty difficult to get to without entering the resort. Depending on the winds the undertow can be strong more times than not for swimming in the ocean. Charges (extra) - Since this is not an all-inclusive resort, all meals and services would be extra much like any resort in the United States. Distances - Very convenient to the airport, less than 10 minutes. You are about 25-30 minutes from Acapulco Bay.
Fitness Area - They have an excellent fitness area and two indoor and 9 outdoor tennis courts. They hold the Mexican Tennis Open yearly at this resort. Food - If you want plenty of dining choices, this resort has them. They have 5 restaurants, serving Italian, Mexican, and international cuisines. Getting Around - Taxi is the best method though expect to pay a pretty penny to get to town and back. I would not suggest renting a car for driving here will test your skills and nerves.
Jackets and Ties - Keep them at home, but long pants and a collared shirt for the men is highly suggested for dinner . Kids - They have a kids club called Princesslandia, which has a supervised children's program offering a variety of activities such as miniature golf, basketball, soccer, painting lessons, water polo, water volleyball and more. The kids will also love the water slides in the pools. Babysitting is available with an extra charge. Normally you also have to cover the taxi transportation for the babysitter. Little Known Fact-This is the home of the very first swim-up bar in the world. They were told they were crazy at the time for putting a bar in the pool. Crazy like a fox I say! They were also the first to have an open air lobby.
Negatives -Since this is such a large resort, it is the only one in Acapulco that can handle large groups and conventions so be prepared at times to see a lot of people here. Nightlife - Acapulco is known for its nightlife. Things don't really get started until midnight and go until 5am. I on the other hand am sleeping by midnight and awake by 5am. Pool - If you have read any of my reviews you know I am a big pool person. I love waterfalls, water slides, and swim-up pool bars. The more pools the better. I am in pool heaven here! Protection - Electronic safety deposit boxes in each room. Recreation - Between the tennis and water sports, the Fairmont boasts two championship golf courses right on the property.
Shopping -I think they have more shops here than some of the shopping centers in town. Spa- By far, they have the nicest spa facilities in all of Acapulco. This is definitely a signature of this resort. Terrain - Put your walking shoes on for this is a large resort. After you get your bearings it is not as bad as it seems but still a large resort.
View-The oceanfront rooms have fantastic views and the Junior suites are almost double the size on the corners with a balcony that wraps around. Weather-June through October is rainy season but more of the rain comes overnight. Acapulco boasts over 330 days of sunshine. November through April are the nicest months of the year WOW Factor-The upscale resort feeling and the service that Fairmont is known for. X-Y-Z -If you like a larger resort with pretty much everything you need without leaving the resort, this is a perfect choice. See more pictures: Click Here |
