Beach-The beach is coming back and in much better shape than when I was there. Hurricane Wilma devastated Cancun in 2005 and after the government pumped millions of dollars in the beach restoration, hurricane Dean did a number again in August 2006. But mother nature is working its magic with natural restoration and the government plans on helping out as early as 2008.. Charges (extra) - Spa treatments would be extra. Distances- only 15-20 minutes from the airport, this is a perfect location smack dab in the middle of the hotel zone right near the Kukulkan Shopping Center. Entertainment on Property -You will not find big large production shows in the evening but the staff does a great job with family entertainment in the evening.
Food- You will not find 20 restaurants like some of the larger all-inclusive's but what I can tell you is you will find quality. They have 5 restaurants of which 4 are Specialty restaurants serving Mexican, Oriental and Italian cuisine along with a steakhouse. Reservations are not required at any of the restaurants other than the hibachi tables in the oriental restaurant. What I like about Palace resorts is they also have a nice wine selection that is included so you can order a nice bottle of wine with dinner. Getting Around- Close to everything and the bus is a bargain if you do not want to take a taxi. I take the bus everywhere. Internet Access -They have wireless internet access from the rooms and the best part is there is no extra cost! Since I am normally working while in Cancun, this is perfect for me to keep up with servicing my clients. Jackets and Ties- Keep them at home but long pants and a collared shirt is required for the men at dinner in the specialty restaurants.
Little Known Fact -At all of the Palace resorts if you are staying for 5-7 nights they will include some very nice day tours. Medical Services-On call medical services. Negatives-I like being close to everything but others might think the area is too congested. Nightlife- This is Cancun, need I say more. Opportunities-Take advantage of one of the free tours included in your 7 night package. It is well worth it. They also offer a pretty nice golf package and new this year free long distance back to the United States.
Protection-In room safe. Recreation-Plenty of water sports with Sunfish Sailing, Snorkeling, Paddle Boats all complimentary with scuba, Motorboats, Jet Ski / Wave runner and Water skiing with an additional charge. Rooms-All the rooms here are Superiors which are equivalent to Junior Suites with either lagoon or ocean views and a Jacuzzi in every room. The Presidential Suites have adjoining rooms and can be requested but not guaranteed in advance though they try to keep families together. Shopping-A couple of small shops at the resort but you are very close to Kukulkan Shopping Center.
Terrain-High rise resort and the way it is designed you are close to everything. You don't have to walk a mile to get from your room to the beach. Updates-Palace Resorts has started offering free long distance back to the US. If you have ever had to make a long distance call from Mexico back to the states from a hotel before, you know this is a great offer. View-Right on the ocean, fantastic views. Weather-Mid December through May has the best weather. September and October gets more rain. WOW Factor-The jacuzzis in the rooms, the views and the quality food and dining.

Ambiance-I can honestly say I have enjoyed every Palace Resort I have stayed at and Cancun Palace lives up to my expectations. They went through a major renovation and reopened in 2007 with major changes. They also have separate check-in and check-out lobby's so there are no long lines. Family friendly so bring the kids and enjoy this class act.
Fitness Area - Brand new machines with all the renovations in 2007.
Kids-They have a great kids program for ages 4-11. What is nice is not only is it open from 7am to 5pm but it is also open in the evenings from 7pm to 9pm allowing the parents to have a nice dinner by themselves if they want. Babysitting is $15 p/hour for one child and $5 for an extra child plus $15 to pay for the babysitter's transportation.
Pool-Three pools total. One that is a zero entry children's pool with small water slides and other fun stuff. They also have a quiet jacuzzi area on the second floor. They also have one of the best infinity pools in all of Cancun.
Spa-A small but very adequate spa area.
