Sightseeing |
|
Waimea Canyon, one of Kauai's
most renowned natural beauties, created by the incessant grinding of streams,
eroding winds and pelting rains carving the bedrock to depths of 3,600 feet and
up to 10 miles wide. It is known to many as the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.
In
Kapaia, far below Route 583, Wailua Falls plunges 80 feet over a sudden cliff
into a large round pool. Perfect for a honeymoon outing with a little adventure for
it is said that nobility would come here to dive from the cliff into the pool
as a show of physical prowess; commoners were not believed to be infused with
enough divine power to execute this feat.
Fern
Grotto is a natural amphitheater. Ferns fill the cave with luminescent green patterns
and textures. The Fern Grotto boat ride is entertaining and enjoyable, plus it is the only way to get there, unless you and your honey think
you can make it in kayaks!
Activities |
|
There are several great
activities for honeymooners to enjoy in Kaua'i. Along with the many things couples can do on the beach, you can golf, play tennis, go hiking or biking, horseback
riding, kayaking, fishing, snuba, scuba, snorkeling and even hang gliding. Take
a helicopter tour of the island and you are set! |
|
Shopping |
|
Honeymooners' shopping urges
can be satisfied at one of several destinations. There is the Princeville Shopping
Center or Coconut Market Place in Kapa'a. Or try Kukui Grove Center in Lihu'e,
which is one of Kauai's largest shopping, dining and entertainment centers. |

Hidden
Gems | |
This year, Kaua`i
will play host to a myriad of exciting events and activities. It is a year when
the multi-cultured people of Kaua`i will unite in the spirit of Aloha and share
the Hawaiian value of Ohana (family) with friends and loved ones visiting from
around the world.

Family
Friendly Dining and Entertainment
To really sample a taste
of Hawaii, honeymooners must take in a lu'au, which is a feast with an accent on
fun. You can watch and even learn how to hula, eat to your hearts content
and watch the amazing cultural entertainment!
|
Climate |
|
The
average high summer temperature is 87°F while the average high winter temperature
is 80°F. The ocean temperature is remarkably consistent at 72-76 degrees all
year long. The amount of rainfall across Kaua'i varies considerably. As one ventures
away from the beaches and toward the mountains, the likelihood of encountering
rain increases. |
