Sightseeing |
 |
One of the island's best-known
attractions is Dunn's River Falls, a dramatic 600-foot waterfall. A highlight
of any trip to Ocho Rios is to climb up the falls' limestone tiers, followed by
a swim at the beach below. Kingston
offers museums, galleries, theaters and is best known as the birthplace of reggae
music. The Bob Marley Museum and recording studio are here.
In
Montego Bay you can find St. James Parish Church, built in 1765, and the
Cage, an 18-century prison that once held runaway slaves and unruly seamen. |
 |
Activities |
 |
Dolphin Cove offers visitors
the "Dolphin Encounter" located in Ocho Rios. You can feed,
pet, interact and swim with the dolphins.
Diving
is also very popular with several great dive destinations. Bird-watching has become
one of Jamaica's leading activities. The island had about 200 resident bird species,
25 of which are found nowhere else. Several land-based activities for honeymooners are also available
such as cricket, golf, horseback riding, polo, and golf. |
 |
Shopping |
 |
While
Kingston boasts of the arts and crafts market and duty-free shopping, some of
the finest art and crafts on the island can be found at the art gallery located
in Harmony hall in Ocho Rios. The Harbor Street Craft Market in Montego Bay is
also a favorite among tourists. | |
